Activision has dropped the price of its first-person / third-person war game hybrid Call of Duty: Strike Team on iOS and Android.

There's a reason for it, too. The 2015 Call of Duty Championship kicked off in Los Angeles today. So the price drop is a celebration of that.

How much of a saving can you make? Well, instead of paying £4.99 / $6.99 you can pick it up for £1.49 / $1.99.

Oh, and Activision also shoehorned in a mention of the latest update to Call of Duty: Heroes in announcing this price drop.

Apparently, the reduced price is also a celebration of Ilona from Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare being added to Heroes. Sure, OK, whatever.

Anyway, you can pick up Call of Duty: Strike Team on the App Store and Google Play.

We gave it a Bronze Award, with our reviewer saying that it's "one-part clumsy FPS, and one-part satisfying top-down strategy game."

They also recommend that you "spend most of your time with the latter and you'll be guaranteed a pretty good time."
Android Police
Archer: Danger Phone is a narrative-driven idle game based on the Emmy Award-winning animated comedy series. It's available now for both iOS and Android with FX Networks hoping it'll keep fans entertained for the arrival of the show's eleventh season, which starts September 16th.

In Archer: Danger Phone the world's economy has completely fallen over and it'll be up to you to save it. To do this, you'll lead a team of hapless spies through a cryptocurrency operation that's apparently 'just crazy enough to work' and not, in fact, a way to make Krieger richer.
For thou art all, and all things else are thine.
"Oh, go away, Susan, go away," said Anne forlornly. "Cellars and pantries and closets don't make a HOME. Why don't you weep with those who weep?"
With the Nintendo Switch presentation teasing the horizon, a little bit of pre-order news has finally reared its head.

A limited quantity of pre-orders for the #NintendoSwitch will begin on 1/13 at 9AM while supplies last at #NintendoNYC.— Nintendo NY (@NintendoNYC) January 11, 2017 As you all know the Switch presentation kicks off later today (or tomorrow morning for GMT time-zoners), and whilst we still don't know for sure how much it's going to be, or what games are going to be announced with it, at least we know that pre-orders will be going live on Friday...for some.

More cities may rear their heads shouting 'over here! We've got pre-orders too', but for now it's only the lucky folks of New York that have a shot at it. Nintendo NY tweeted out yesterday that there'd be a 'limited quantity' of available pre-orders, so I guess that's both bitter and sweet news. Let's just hope it doesn't snow for the eager beavers waiting in line to get their hands on one.

Tune into the Switch conference tonight at 9 PM PST/11 PM EST/4 AM GMT. We'll be covering the event as well so be sure to join us in excited, sleepless babble.
"Oh, you may laugh, doctor, dear, but it would be no laughing matter."

The Gold Award-winning Rayman Jungle Run is on sale on iOS once again.

If you haven't picked it up yet then now would be a good time to. Instead of paying £1.99 / $2.99, you only have to throw 69p / 99c at your phone to get one of best platformers on mobile.

No, really, in our review we said: "This fast, tense, beautiful game is everything you loved about Rayman Origins, now perfectly suited to touch."

And by "suited to touch," we're referring to the one-touch controls. Rayman runs automatically across hand-crafted levels, so you just tap to tell him when to jump.

It works and it's a lot of fun, especially with Ubisoft's sprightly animations and musical twists.
I might as yet have been a spreading flower,

Cookies Must Die is the latest title to come from the minds of developers Rebel Twins. They're quite well-known for their zany ideas and this one looks to be no different. Cookies Must Die will be available for iOS and Android with a targeted release of early next year.

Specific details are fairly sparse at the moment. But there's a lot we can glean from the teaser trailer, their previous work and what sparing details we've been told about the game. Players will take control of Jack, a super-secret agent with a mighty ginger beard.

He's been granted a number of special powers from government scientists and he'll have to make good use of them to eliminate a group of mutant, sentient cookies. These mutant cookies and their powerful bosses were created after a science experiment went awry, which can be seen in the trailer below.
Of wealth, of filial fear, law, kindred, fame!

"Of course there is no great rush, dearie. But Dick Moore's been dead for thirteen years and Leslie has wasted enough of her life for him. We'll just see what comes of it. As for this George Moore, who's gone and come back to life when everyone thought he was dead and done for, just like a man, I'm real sorry for him. He won't seem to fit in anywhere."
