WORD Match: Quiz Stack GameFunction introduction

Have you ever played Angry Birds Evolution and thought: "You know what this game needs? Metal." Well, this one's for you whoever you may be.

We liked Evolution well enough to give it a Bronze Award in its review, and it does a good job proving some quality, addictive fun before the free-to-play quirks come knocking. For this Halloween season, however, Rovio pays tribute to Iron Maiden as a familiar face storms the scene.

For two weeks you'll be able to play as Eddie the Bird, ultimately keeping him forever if you're lucky enough to recruit him. To celebrate with collaboration, there will be four evolutions of the character, each of which represents a different album from Iron Maiden's story history. Plus, the entirety of Bird Island will turn into a Halloween-themed, heavy metal oasis.

This event runs from October 16th to the end of the month, so good luck. You can grab the game free-to-play on the App Store or Google Play.

The winners of the Indie Prize in Berlin have just been announced and the delightful Super Pet Hero won the prize for best mobile game.

Super Pet Hero is a new take on Crossyroad that, instead of constantly going up, asks you to avoid traffic by moving in a small space. You'll have to decide if that power up is worth picking up or if the danger of a car running you over is too great.

"Well; if she marries Ralph I hope he will be a little more up-and-coming than his brother Billy," mused Anne.

The downloadable content pack that millions of gamers have been waiting for, is finally available on Steam.

You can now grab Beard and Hairstyle Set for free. The pack features various head and chin wear arrangements. Picking a style for Geralt from this DLC will stop his beard growing throughout the course of some other, unrelated game.

According to Steam, Beard and Hairstyle Set has full controller support and localisation in English, French, Italian, German, Spanish, Arabic, Czech, Hungarian, Japanese, Korean, Polish, Portuguese-Brazil, Russian, and Traditional Chinese.

But stop right there, big boy. You're going to need at least 6 GB RAM, an Intel Core i5-2500K 3.3GHz or AMD Phenom II X4 940 processor, and an Nvidia GeForce GTX 660 or AMD Radeon HD 7870 graphics card to play Beard and Hairstyle Set.

You will also need to purchase some game called The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, which coincidentally also just hit Steam for Windows only, for £49.99.

"But living--going about in the flesh?" persisted Anne.
Self-interest alone moves some men.
With wit well blazoned, smiled, or made some moan.
"`All is well, lad,' he says. `I've seen the Royal William coming around East Point. She will be here by dawn. Tomorrow night I shall sit with my bride by my own hearth-fire.'
But it was a happy and beautiful bride who came down the old, homespun-carpeted stairs that September noon--the first bride of Green Gables, slender and shining-eyed, in the mist of her maiden veil, with her arms full of roses. Gilbert, waiting for her in the hall below, looked up at her with adoring eyes. She was his at last, this evasive, long-sought Anne, won after years of patient waiting. It was to him she was coming in the sweet surrender of the bride. Was he worthy of her? Could he make her as happy as he hoped? If he failed her--if he could not measure up to her standard of manhood--then, as she held out her hand, their eyes met and all doubt was swept away in a glad certainty. They belonged to each other; and, no matter what life might hold for them, it could never alter that. Their happiness was in each other's keeping and both were unafraid.

Niantic has announced the next Pokemon Go Community day will take place on 24th May from 11 am to 5 pm local time. This follows the Abra Community Day that took place at the start of last month. This time around it will focus on the grass Pokemon Seedot.

During this event, you will unsurprisingly encounter more Seedot in the wild than usual. There will also be a chance that you'll run into a Shiny version of the Acorn Pokemon, which means you'll eventually be able to get a fetching burgundy coloured Shiftry. Beyond that, if you evolve a Nuzleaf during the event, or less than two hours after, that Shiftry will know Bullet Seed.

As with the Abra Community day, players will also be able to purchase a Special Research story called Seeing Double for $1 or your local equivalent. This will see players assisting Professor Willow in learning more about Seedot and its evolutions Nuzleaf and Shiftry. Completing this quest will net players three Incense, five Golden Razz Berries and more.

During the event, there will also be a few bonuses too. Players will receive 3x the usual catch experience whilst Incense activated during the event will last for 3 hours. Finally, a Buddy Pokemon that has reached the level of Great Buddy or higher will regularly fetch items such as Poke Balls throughout the day.

There will also be a one-time-purchase May Community Day bundle available from the shop too. This will contain an Elite Fast TM, 30 Ultra Balls, three Incense and three Lucky Eggs. However, there is currently no word on what this will cost but the Abra version was priced at 1,280 PokéCoins, so this will likely be a similar price.

Pokemon Go is available now over on the App Store and Google Play. It's a free-to-play game with in-app purchases.
Looking for some tips for the GO Battle League? We've got you covered

Last week at San Francisco-based event Gaming Insiders, Capy Games president Nathan Vella shared some insightful stats regarding indie game sales figures.

Of those, perhaps the most surprising is that retro-style action platformer Shovel Knight nearly made as much revenue on 3DS as it did on Steam.

Vella shared a pie chart (pictured above) of Shovel Knight's net revenue distribution across different platforms.

Steam came out on top taking 32 percent but 3DS is right behind it at 30 percent.

You can also see in that same image that Double Fine's Kickstarted adventure game Broken Age made 61 percent of its net revenue on Windows PCs.

But mobile came in second place with 16 percent of the game's net revenue, beating PS4 and PS Vita.

"Shovel Knight broke the impression that indies don't sell so well on Nintendo, and Broken Age has a surprisingly huge following on Mac," Vella said.

"All of these games are generating significant amounts of net revenue from a whole bunch of different platforms. If you were to remove a single platform, these developers would be leaving a significant chunk of money behind."
VentureBeat
